Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13th, 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country musician and singer whose tales of young heartache achieved widespread recognition in the beginning of the 21st century. Swift developed an interest for music as a child and soon progressed from performing in children's shows to making her debut in front of an audience. Swift was 11 years old when she performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball game. Following that she started writing her own songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift got the inspiration to create her own music by artists from the country category, like Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. Swift left Pennsylvania along with her parents to Hendersonville, Tennessee when she was 13 years old to dedicate her time in contacting label representatives from the country genre.
